Cat Fashion Show Fun!!!
Entry Info: It is the exhibitors' responsibility to verify before the closing date that the entries were received. Per CFA show rules, fees for online/fax entries must be made WITHIN TEN DAYS or entry or at check-in, whichever comes first. Make checks payable to National Capital Cat Show. Returned Check fee $50. Male PayPal payments to natlcap-entry@outlook.com PayPal will be accepted only until closing date. Use of Security cages with an odd number of entries will require the purchase of an extra 1/2 cage. No substitutions after closing date. No refunds once your entry has been received or for failure to bench. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to check entry confirmation and notify entry clerk of any errors.
Show Hall: Dulles Expo Center 4320 Chantilly Shopping Center, Chantilly, VA 20153 (Rt. 28 at Willard Road) Ph: 703-378-0910. The show hall is air conditioned and wheelchair accessible. People food is provided and there is plenty of free parking. This is a non-smoking facility.
Check In & Show Hours: Friday evening from 5 to 7 pm and Saturday from 7:30 - 9:00 am. Judging will start at 9:30 am Saturday; 9 am Sunday. Advertised show hours are 9:30 am - 5 pm Saturday; 9 am - 4 pm Sunday. No entries, with the exception of kittens, may leave the show hall before the end of the advertised show hours without the permission of the Show Manager.
Hotel Info: There is no official show hotel but the Holiday Inn Chantilly/Dulles Expo is closest to show hall (across the parking lot). 4335 Chantilly Shopping Center, Chantilly, VA 20151 Ph: 703-815-6060. The hotel has a free airport shuttle. There are numerous hotels in the area best way to research is to go to www.hotels.com Chantilly and select Pet Friendly. Other local hotels: Best Western Battlefield Inn 10820 Balls Ford Rd, Manassas VA 20109 Ph 703-361-8000. Hot breakfast buffet, free wi-fi. Refrigerator, and microwave in every room! Restaurant and lounge on site for convenience. (9 miles from the Expo Center on I-66). Fly-Ins: Dulles International Airport (IAD) is a 15-20 minute drive. Reagan National Airport (DCA) is a 45-60 minute drive. Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) is about 1 1/2-2 hours away.
Awards: All entries in Championship (except Novice), Premiership (except Novice), registered Kittens, recorded Household Pets, and registered cats competing as Household Pets with an Household Pet color class prefix will be scored for CFA awards. Owners of novices can contact the entry clerk for a temporary registration number. Rosettes will be awarded and permanent flats will be used in accordance with CFA show rules. CFA rules will be strictly enforced. A copy of the Show Rules may be obtained for $7 from CFA by ordering online at www.catalog.cfa.org/pubs.shtml#showrules. Kittens & Kittens For Sale: Sales cages will be available only if you have an entry in the show. Please keep in mind the show rule which limits two kittens per single cage. No kitten under 4 months of age is permitted in the show hall. No kittens may be kept in carriers under the cage or in your car. All kittens being sold at this show must be sold from a Sales Cage which you purchased for that purpose, the fees are listed above. You must have proof of age for all kittens being sold; (i.e., a CFA registration, blue or yellow slip) and a Rabies certificate. A Rabies certificate is required by Virginia state law for all kittens that are 4 months of age.
Health: All cats and kittens entered or present in the show hall should be inoculated against feline enteritis, feline rhinotracheitis, calici viruses, and rabies (required by Virginia state law - bring proof of vaccination), and tested negative for FeLV. All cats should be free from fleas, fungus, or other health problems. Any cat suspected being ill, of having fleas, etc., is subject to removal from the show hall in accordance with CFA show rules. All claws must be clipped prior to benching.
Breed Showcase: Breed Showcase presentations will be on Saturday and Sunday. If you are able to bring a cat for the presentation, please contact our coordinator Kathy Pritchard smalltimenews@msn.com
Pet-Me Cats: All breeds welcome. We especially need breed representatives who are not entered in the show to be available to meet and greet the public. Supervision and secluded "down time" cage space (not in regular benching area) will be provided. Please contact Bob Dubit bobdubit@comcast.net for more information or to volunteer.
Supplies and Miscellaneous: Litter will be provided at the show hall. You should bring litter boxes, food, bowls, and any other supplies needed by your feline friend. Single cage size is 22" x 22" x 22".
Is This Your First show? Please indicate on your entries! We will try to bench you with someone experienced. Visit www.cfanewbee.org for information on showing a cat in CFA.
Household Pet Entries: All Household Pets must be over 4 months old and those over the age of 8 (eight) months must be neutered or spayed and may not be declawed. Additional info
Agility Entries: All are welcome to enter agility cats. For cats not entered in the show it is mandatory you pre-enter your agility cat using the form on the CFA Agility web site. The Fee for cats not entered in the show is $25; which includes a single cage (22”x2”x22”) you can purchase an Extra 1/2 cage space for an additional $25. For cats entered in the show it is preferred that you pre-enter your agility cat using the form on the CFA Agility web site. Entries will also be accepted at the show. The fee for cats entered in the show is $10.
Breed Booths: Breed Booths are welcomed and encouraged. If you would like to bring a breed booth to showcase your breed, please contact our booth coordinator, Cheryl Coleman cherylcoleman.2006@yahoo.com Each breed will be provided up to two double cage spaces (must be reserved in advance) free of charge to set up your booth. 8-foot unskirted tables may be rented for a fee (to be determined). One booth/display per breed - must be authorized by the Breed Council Secretary. If you are bringing a booth to showcase your breed, please have your Breed Council Secretary contact our booth coordinator. You must indicate “Breed Booth” on the entry form for appropriate benching. Also indicate the number of spaces – one or two – and whether you will rent a table.
National Capital reserves the right to substitute judges in case of emergency.
