SHOW HALL: Charleston Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive, Charleston, WV 25301 Phone: 304-345-1500. The show hall is handicapped accessible, heated and air-conditioned as needed. No smoking in the show hall. A concession stand will be available for people. CHECK-IN/SHOW HOURS: Check-in 7:30 - 8:30 am on Saturday; 8 - 8:30 am on Sunday. Judging will begin promptly at 9 am both days. Show hours are advertised as 9 am - 5 pm both days. SCORING: All entries in Championship (except Novice), Premiership (except Novice), registered Kittens, recorded Household Pets, and registered cats competing as Household Pets with an Household Pet color class prefix will be scored for CFA awards. Owners of novices can contact the entry clerk for a temporary registration number. Kittens may be entered without registration numbers, but will not be scored for CFA awards if a number is not provided at show time. Kittens without a registration number or TRN will not be included in the count. LOCAL HOTEL INFO: There is no show hotel. There are several pet friendly motels in the area: BENCHING: Single cage 22” x 22” x 22” and is included with each entry. No more than two kittens or one cat may be benched in a single cage whether entered for exhibition or competition or benched for sale. Exhibitors with an odd number of entries using any size security cage are required to purchase an extra 1/2 cage. Please bring cage curtains and grooming aids. Exhibitors must transport cats into and out of the show hall in an enclosed, secured carrier. Litter will be provided; bring your own litter box, dishes and cat food. Declawed cats are not eligible for competition. Kittens under 4 months old, or cats not entered in the show are not allowed in the show hall. HEALTH: It is strongly advised that all cats or kittens entered or present in the show hall be inoculated before entry by a licensed veterinarian against feline panleukopenia (formerly known as feline distemper or feline infectious enteritis), feline rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus and rabies. It is also strongly recommended that cats and kittens be tested and found negative for FeLV before entry. All cats/kittens must have all claws clipped prior to benching. Declawed cats are not eligible for competition. HOUSEHOLD PETS: All entries must be at least 4 months old; all entries 8 months or older must be neutered or spayed. Entries may not be declawed.
